Ever since the GAp stopped selling carpenter ... we 've looked everywhere for some that had more than 3 belt loops in the back. These ... perfect for my husbands work as a carpenter and you can't get a better value for the money. LOVE IT!!!

Keep selling these ...
Why did you stop selling these ... stores, I cannot find them and the stores told me they've been discontinued? I wear these ... everyday for work and play because they are comfortable all the time. I am 6 foot, 210 making these ... only style that are comfortable to bend or kneel down in. There's enough room at the boot, thigh and butt, unlike other brand's "boot cut or carpenter style" ... My only complaint is that they have too short of a lifespan (less than 1 year of everyday wear) and that not all pairs fit the same. The cotton starts to wear thin in the thigh and knee area right before a hole rips open. Maybe someone at Gap Inc. can put in a good word and have these ... made here in the United States of America instead of Pakistan like the tag says, they might last longer and create more jobs here. I'd rather pay more for ... last longer while helping out here at home. All and all for the price these ... can't be beat, so Old Navy, please don't stop selling these ... stores or at the very least online.

Great ...
My husband loves these ... work, he used to like Levi's but they stopped making carpenter ... So the Old Navy Carpenter ... only ones he will wear. They are light weight and fit nice. He loves the side pocket for his phone. I hope they will continue making these ... only thing I wish is that they would carry the talls in the stores.

Loose Painter or Ultra Low Rise tight leg pants
I have purchased Gap and Old Navy ... years as they were the most economical carpenter style ... left on the market. Gap discontinued the line so I purchased only Old Navy this last time. However, Old Navy painter ... now cut way too low on the waist and are smaller in the upper thigh area. Supposedly, they are loose fit but these pants are tighter through the leg and ride low on the waist showing too much rear end. So if you like the young thug look then you will be pleased with these ...

wish they did not change
so i have been wearing the carpenter/painter ... years now. i work out doors and these have always been the best in comfort and durability. but i feel like i am being forced to change because they have made the carpenter/painter ... tight in the crouch and to short in the waist, i almost thought they had gotten womens measurments mixed in with the mens. so i just bought some carpenter ... [...] found out not to bad and will live with these now. maybe in the future i will hear that old navy changes and goes back to a normal fit, if that happens i will be back but until then you have lost me as a ... customer permantly.

Not impressed
The only ... ever wore were Old Navy Carpenter ... bought three pairs at Old Navy on line and returned them the day after I received them. They are not like the old carpenter ... Material seemed more light weight, the fit between waist and the crotch was horrible had to wear them way below my waist in order to fit properly into them. A cheaper ... Old Navy use to make. A huge disappointment.

Not as expected
When I received these ... took them out of the package and noticed right away that they seemed very short. I am a short person don't get me wrong, but these were too short for me. Maybe I just got an irregular pair of the ... Every pair of old navy pants I receive are very different in size. Some are very small, and others are fine. I have ordered cargo pants and ... guess I shouldn't order online anymore and go to the store where they can be tried on. I did not like the carpenter style of ...

SMALL BUTT, VERY LOW RISE!
These ... dont cover your butt at all. The pant legs are very big/wide. I got a size 44 and the legs are about 1 foot wide, way too wide. Didnt even come up on my butt (I dont have a big butt at all). Very low rise. These were suppose to be Carpenter, not low rise ... Old Navy needs to go back to the older ... use to love them but I am done buying ON, had to return all my ... Very unhappy

not impressed.
I bought these carpenter ... my boyfriend to work in and when I got them they looked like kids ... they were suppose to be 32-32 and they were way too tight everywhere on my boyfriend and too short.They were called loose fit carpenter ... but were more like extra tight skinny leg jeans.I usually don't have problems with old navy so hopefully the return is easy

Bring Back the Old in Old Navy!
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who thinks the new painter ... suck! This started when they got rid of the carpenter ... switched to only painter ... then they changed them to only one pocket on the right leg and made them too long. Now they go and change it again for this stupid slim style. What happened to the loose crotch area? Now they ride up like regular fit ... they are no longer comfortable at all. I've resorted to [...] to find the old style but they are now harder to find. CHANGE THE STYLE BACK! I'll no longer buy Old Navy ... until you do!

waist too low
I have been a longtime user of the painter and carpenter ... hate the fact that the waist has been lowered and thought that the ones online were the old style. I will never shop at Old Navy again until the ... fit as they did years back. I dont like the feeling of my crack showing and I am sure nobody wants to see it. Is there a plan to remedy this or do I shop elsewhere from this point forward? if you could guarentee the old style ... would buy 6 pairs right now.

Great even on skinny boys
I almost always stayed away from a carpenter fit for my very tall, very skinny 6 year old, however, these were great even on him! I plan on buying more.

Great for back to school
My 12 year old grandson loves the "carpenter" style ... They fit him perfectly. He is a young man who can be very hard on clothes, and these ON ... seem to fill that need for great ... wear to school, durable, and wash well.

Husky Size Carpenter ...
My son is very hard to fit considering he has average legs but is wider in the waist. These Husky ... were perfect for his waist, but the length was actually very long. In the future I'd love to see Old Navy label the length of the ... Husky Sizes. Just as in Slim sizes that most need to be longer, Parent's such as myself need Husky sizes to run a bit smaller. (ie. Petite sections for adults). Overall these ... great buy. Love the price, trendy, and easily dressed up or down. I will be buying more from Old Navy as I love being able to dress my son trendy at an affordable price. Thank you.

Good deal
A little bigger than we expected....especially in the hips/thigh area. I find it very surprising that the men's 28 carpenter ... high watered and tight versus the boys size 16 are longer and baggier. Had to lighten the ... because they were A LOT darker than the picture on the website displayed. I also had to shrink them just a bit. But good quality ... course the deal I got on them was WAY better than the adult price!

Perfect fit for my 13yr. old son ...
This will be our 3rd year purchasing ON ... sons school wardrobe. ... fit great and we absolutely LOVE the adjustable waist! So far ON ... have been durable JUST enough to last MOST of the school year (if you don’t count knee fade and ankle hem wear) .. last year we bought 3 pairs and the last pair finally ripped in the knee about 10 weeks before the end of school. Not too shabby for an uber active tween boy ;p ON has a good selection of Boys styles and colours, however, it’s getting harder to find our sons fit and favourite styles in store without them looking ‘grungy dirty’. My son will be 13 this year and even he’s not impressed with the ‘dirty look’ trend in colours : To be honest, if it weren’t for the Back to School sales making them so affordable, and the fact that you can find decent colours online, due to the colour issues alone we have considered looking elsewhere. ON A PERSONAL NOTE – Regular ... looks great online in the darker shades, but better in person in the lighter shades. The reverse is true for Loose ... Unless your kiddo is retro British Invasion or a wannabe metro, Boys Skinny ... just look stupid. And it is impossible to find Painter or Carpenter style ... Boys in store, but easy to find them in Mens .. why? Not to mention, online the Boys Painter ... only ever come in one shade.

Too big... returning!
I LOVE the ON Toddler Boy ... but when I moved my 6 year old (44", 45lbs) up to the Boys ... not the same fit. ... were too large in the leg for my slim to-average boy. It was more of a relaxed fit or carpenter pant fit. However, I don't want the boys 'skinny' ... look either. I'm returning them. So sad to lose this sure fit ... option. :(
