mens cargo pants - reviews

shrinks to fit* Length: The pants were 1 1/2 in too long when I bought them, but shrank about 1 in in the dryer so that they now fit well in the length. (I'm 6 ft tall and bought a 34L. A 33L would have been best if that size were available, while a 32L I also bought was too short.)* Waist: The waist shrank somewhat, but is still a little too loose to wear without a belt, so I would order a size down. (My waist is 31-32 in and I ordered a 32W.) Note that the leg is tighter on the 31W than the 32W.* Pockets: The cargo and back pockets have buttons, which takes some getting used to compared to velcro, but they definitely stay closed. I didn't find the front pockets too shallow, unlike some reviewers. (They go about 1 in below the top of the cargo pockets.)* Color: The khaki color is darker than in the picture, more of a beige. In fact, the color is close to the color of the American Twill picture. The American Twill itself is more of a brown color.* Overall, I would recommend these pants if you want something loose fitting that shrinks to fit. The price ([$]) is definitely a bargain! It's worth taking advantage of the free returns to stores to try on multiple sizes.

Mistake on last reviewSorry, the review and ratings given earlier for this item was meant for the other ordered item, the belted cargo pants so please use those previous ratings and review for that other order and use the above (satisfied) ratings for this pair of loose fit cargo pants. With hindsight, having now received both pairs of cargo pants I should have ordered two different color pairs of these loose fit cargo pants and non of the belted cargo pants. Many thanks, Paul Tivers

Years of searching is over!Been looking EVERYWHERE for cargo pants in my size to no avail! Finally I found these cargo pants & they are EXCELLENT ! ! The fit is terrific, the cargo pockets are perfect because they don't bulge out, no velcro (hooray!),pockets actually have buttons! The material is comfy, not heavy weight & they wash like a dream no ironing! I wish they had these pants in ten colors I'd order them all. Thank you Old Navy!

Pretty Good for the MoneyNot bad for the money. They are not quite as heavy of cotton as the ones in ON stores. When I dry them after wash, they dry quicker than my other cargo pants from ON store. The cargo pockets are not as deep. I prefer the ON store pants that are labeled in the waistband "loose cargo". They are a higher rise than the ON store "loose cargo". These are not quite as well made in my opinion. Still, a good buy at[$] a pair, but I will stick to the store item which I prefer.

Great fit!I ordered a pair of these cargo pants for work. I carry a wallet, a cell phone, keys, pocket knife, etc that always have a home when I wear cargo shorts, but not so much when I wear either jeans or slacks. So I bought a pair of of these to try out, never having had cargo pants before. They fit great, all my stuff goes into different pockets, and they look good enough to wear to work. They fit better than jeans on me, and they did not shrink when my wife washed them. I was so impressed I ordered 2 more in different colors.

Not the same as the loose cargos in store! Not what I expected. They tag on the inside of the pants say "Cargo pants. Old Navy Favorite Khakis." The one's from the store say "Loose Cargo." My husband tried them on and said they were tighter in the tights(he's a cyclist/runner) but overall they were a good fit. He mostly wears them for work, but I'm still thinking of taking these to the store and exchanging them for some real Loose Cargo pants.

where have the pockets gone? Now you went and did it! Why did you get rid of the big cargo pockets? The new style has a restricted pocket size, eliminating the whole reason to buy these cargo pants. If you do not go back to the old style, I will be looking for a new supplier of cargo pants.

Cargo pants run smallI ordered cargo pants for my tall college son- the same ones that Levi makes, they look identical, but run wayyy small! The length is great, but when ordering the exact same size as Levi, they come in rather tight in waist and seat- I think a 34 should always be a 34!They are a really good replica of the Levi cargo pants.

NOT LOOSE, extremely annoyedThese cargo pants suck, they are not loose at all. It says "boot cut" but its either straight leg or tapered, either way there terrible. I don't know what happened to the cargo pants, guess their following the skinny pants craze. The pockets are really shallow too, guess they made cutbacks on costs... Wish they would bring back actually loose cargo pants. Like if you agree

thigh too tight!I'm an owner of loose fit Old Navy cargo pants. Found a wonderful sale on line and jumped at the chance to snag a few more. I'm a 6'3" 250lbs former football player with larger then average thighs. The words "Baggy" and "loose fit" are a must when I buy pants. The cargo pants mailed to me where not 'loose fit' at all!! I even order pants with a 2 inch larger waist to make sure I have comfort when I sit. I could not sit down and have comfort with the pants mailed to me. I returned my order at the local old navy store and checked their selection of cargo pants. I found that unless you order a 36in waist or less. OLD NAVY DOESN'T MAKE LOOSE FIT ANY MORE FOR WAIST OVER 36IN! It's sad because I own 1 pair of loose fit that does fit from years ago. I have to say you've lost my business.
Not what we orderedWe ordered the loose fitting cargo pants and when they came in the mail we saw that they were just the regular cargo, not the loose fit. We returned them to the store and got our money back. We looked in the store but they did not have the size we needed, so we went back on line and tried to order the pants again, hoping they would send the correct pants this time. Again, they sent the wrong pants. :(
