The Perfect LengthI love these ... length is perfect between the bermuda and 5" style, so these ... look great on anyone that cannot pull off the short ... bit older. They are also great for anyone going out for a casual event where a mid length short is more appropriate. I truly wish they were available in stores and in the colors all other ... offered. Also, the basswood is already sold out in the small sizes and it is only early April! I hope ON restocks this classic short. It is a must have. I want more!
Sooo ComfortableThese are truly the most comfortable ... have ever owned. They perfect a great casual look. I am plus size so it is hard to find ... long enough to flatter my shape but short enough to actually look like cute girl ... These ... perfect combo of both. I enjoyed them so much I bought another pair for my mom, who is a totally different body shape then me, and she loves them too!!
Perfect!!!!I love these ... I'm 5'7 and wanted some ... were not to long or to short. This 7" perfect Khaki short is perfect! I purchased the Shady Lane and Bananna Smoothie. The Shady lane is a little lighter in shade and the Bananna Smoothie is a little more yellow, but both are very nice colors. The color makes my skin tone look a little darker than it is, which I like. Old Navy I wish you would offer more colors in the Perfect Khaki ... 7". Last year you offered a ton of ... variety of color and style. This year, the pickings are slim. I also wish you would offer this length in your stores. All in All these ... worn a lot this summer. By the way, the fabric is great, too.
Best Shorts I''ve Found!!!These are the BEST shorts I've found for myself in a very long time. I'm 48 years old and a true size 10. These shorts fit great. My husband loves them. Please O.N.......offer these shorts again next year and offer more colors. The length is as perfect and it gets for me. Not so long that they look frumpy on me (I have short legs) and not so short that it looks like I'm trying to dress like my 14-year old. The leg width is also perfect. I don't have long thin legs. Thighs are somewhat thick. The leg width on these shorts is perfect for how real women (not skinny models) are built. Thank you O.N. for offering these shorts! Let's get more colors! Coral, mint green, olive, chocolate, med. yellow, ...........etc.
Three words: BEST. ... EVER!!! I LOVE these ... cannot say enough about them! [...] I even ended up ordering another 2 pairs (navy and khaki). They fit great - exactly like other ON bottoms, so I would say order your normal size. They are also a great length - i was looking for some ... between the length of the short ... bermuda ... these are perfect! They can also be rolled if you like them a little bit shorter and it looks very cute! Also made out of good material, so they can be dressed up or down! I just wish there were even more colors (white & dark brown?). And I wish they were available in store, not just online. I would definately recommend these!

I'm average height but I ordered my size in tall because they offer a little bit more room where I need it. For those of you who are looking for a classy pair of ... aren't too short or too long, comfortable, cute and stylish, you will love these ... Like I said, if you're a little bottom heavy, then order your size in tall. The tall sizes are very close to the regulars except they offer a little more room in the hip area. I would order more in every color available but unfortunately they are sold out. Thank you Old Navy for making ... actually love to wear.
the only shorts for me!I am a mom of two little active toddlers. They keep me hoppiing all day long and these shorts help keep me keep up with the fashion but I don't look like a teeny bop. They sit low on the waist (be sure to buy ... boxer short underwear) but they move with you. I always have to have my pants/shorts taken up in the waist so I don't know if anyone has a 'true' waist and I like the fact they they have flat pockets on the back so as not to emphasize my tush. Plus, I don't like bermuda shorts and the length feels appropriate to me for being a mommy (especially when I have to sit awkwardly with the kids). I bought three pair last year (khaki, white(never thought I would like to wear this color but I do!) and peach) I bought another khaki and black this year. The only bummer is that they aren't sold in stores - on line only :(. You can dress these shorts up (as dressy as it comes for shorts) or bum out! Very comfortable!!!!

If you have a pair of the 'perfect khaki' pants, then the shorts fit very similarly. ---Also as a note, I marked in the review that the shorts are true to size FOR OLD NAVY'S SIZES. If you wear a certain size in Old Navy fashions, order that size. Otherwise, I would order down a size. --- I ordered the shorts in navy and the light yellow. The yellow is kind of see through, so be prepared to wear appropriate undergarments with that. But other than that and the sizing, these shorts are great!!! Hope this helps!
Perfect 7" ... Nearly Perfect I've bought these ... past two years and absolutely love them. I'm a 30 yr old mom and have had much trouble in the past 5 years finding shorts...they are either too short or bermudas. I'm by no means a tall girl (5'1"), but a 5" pair of ... me is just too short in my opinion. The 7" are the perfect length! You don't look like you're wearing high school ... but they don't make you look 10 years older than you really are either. The sizing can be off, though, beware. I wouldn't order these online for that reason..you really need to try them on. Overall I have 6 pairs...a light blue, a navy, a khaki, a black, an apple green and white...but they all vary in the way they fit even though they are all a size 2. Some the waist is too tight and others are loose...and I know it's not because I wear one pair more than the other. The two pairs that are loose are the ones I wear least often (because of color..they just don't match with much) and the ones that are snug at the waist are actually the ones I wear most because of the color (khaki and white). Makes no sense. My biggest gripe...why does ON not carry the most basic of colors from year to year?!? Fine if you want to add some new colors...like last years apple green or this years purple....but seriously, no white this year?!? I need a new pair every year because after so many washes white looks dingy. Now I'm back to searching at any store imaginable for comparable ... because ON doesn't have them in the most basic color. What's up with that?!
Mixed feelingsIn general, I like Old Navy's Perfect Khaki line. I own several pairs of their regular length khaki's and capris. I was very interested in these shorts because I needed a length between short shorts & bermudas. I wish they were sold in stores since I don't like buying clothing online without trying it on first. What I love about these shorts is the fit (flattering all around) and length. What I do not like about these ... zipper is very cheap and is hard to pull upward. I am worried they may break at any point which will render the ... useless. Also, the seams are a bit "distressed" or raw. If this style is intended (this is the case on all three pair I purchased) it is not indicated in the product description. The effect is not terribly noticeable on the lighter pairs, but is more noticeable on the dark blue pair. If this effect is not intentional, then I assume it is due to poor construction which is also concerning. I am not sure if I am keeping the shorts...time will tell.

Not so long that they look frumpy on me (I have short legs) and not so short that it looks like I'm trying to dress like my 14-year old. The leg width is also perfect. I don't have long thin legs. Coral, mint green, olive, chocolate, med. yellow, ...........etc.

They sit low on the waist (be sure to buy ... boxer short underwear) but they move with you. I always have to have my pants/shorts taken up in the waist so I don't know if anyone has a 'true' waist and I like the fact they they have flat pockets on the back so as not to emphasize my tush. Plus, I don't like bermuda shorts and the length feels appropriate to me for being a mommy (especially when I have to sit awkwardly with the kids). I bought three pair last year (khaki, white(never thought I would like to wear this color but I do!) and peach) I bought another khaki and black this year. The only bummer is that they aren't sold in stores - on line only :(. You can dress these shorts up (as dressy as it comes for shorts) or bum out! Very comfortable!!!!

Perfect 7" ... Nearly Perfect I've bought these ... past two years and absolutely love them. I'm a 30 yr old mom and have had much trouble in the past 5 years finding shorts...they are either too short or bermudas. I'm by no means a tall girl (5'1"), but a 5" pair of ... me is just too short in my opinion. The 7" are the perfect length! You don't look like you're wearing high school ... but they don't make you look 10 years older than you really are either. The sizing can be off, though, beware. I wouldn't order these online for that reason..you really need to try them on. Overall I have 6 pairs...a light blue, a navy, a khaki, a black, an apple green and white...but they all vary in the way they fit even though they are all a size 2. Some the waist is too tight and others are loose...and I know it's not because I wear one pair more than the other. The two pairs that are loose are the ones I wear least often (because of color..they just don't match with much) and the ones that are snug at the waist are actually the ones I wear most because of the color (khaki and white). Makes no sense. My biggest gripe...why does ON not carry the most basic of colors from year to year?!? Fine if you want to add some new colors...like last years apple green or this years purple....but seriously, no white this year?!? I need a new pair every year because after so many washes white looks dingy. Now I'm back to searching at any store imaginable for comparable ... because ON doesn't have them in the most basic color. What's up with that?!

I was very interested in these shorts because I needed a length between short shorts & bermudas. I wish they were sold in stores since I don't like buying clothing online without trying it on first. What I love about these shorts is the fit (flattering all around) and length. What I do not like about these ... zipper is very cheap and is hard to pull upward. I am worried they may break at any point which will render the ... useless. Also, the seams are a bit "distressed" or raw. If this style is intended (this is the case on all three pair I purchased) it is not indicated in the product description. The effect is not terribly noticeable on the lighter pairs, but is more noticeable on the dark blue pair. If this effect is not intentional, then I assume it is due to poor construction which is also concerning. I am not sure if I am keeping the shorts...time will tell.

Perfect!!!!I love these ... I'm 5'7 and wanted some ... were not to long or to short. This 7" perfect Khaki short is perfect! I purchased the Shady Lane and Bananna Smoothie. The Shady lane is a little lighter in shade and the Bananna Smoothie is a little more yellow, but both are very nice colors. The color makes my skin tone look a little darker than it is, which I like. Old Navy I wish you would offer more colors in the Perfect Khaki ... 7". Last year you offered a ton of ... variety of color and style. This year, the pickings are slim. I also wish you would offer this length in your stores. All in All these ... worn a lot this summer. By the way, the fabric is great, too.
Best Shorts I''ve Found!!!These are the BEST shorts I've found for myself in a very long time. I'm 48 years old and a true size 10. These shorts fit great. My husband loves them. Please O.N.......offer these shorts again next year and offer more colors. The length is as perfect and it gets for me. Not so long that they look frumpy on me (I have short legs) and not so short that it looks like I'm trying to dress like my 14-year old. The leg width is also perfect. I don't have long thin legs. Thighs are somewhat thick. The leg width on these shorts is perfect for how real women (not skinny models) are built. Thank you O.N. for offering these shorts! Let's get more colors! Coral, mint green, olive, chocolate, med. yellow, ...........etc.
