Perfect!
I don't lift weights a much, but I am into athletic activities. I am ... skinny, 6'3" and 200 pounds and wear a 32x36. My thighs are slightly muscular. That said, with the weird "skinny" jean craze, every pair of loose ... have bought are SKIN TIGHT but two!!. The best I found, "before now" that I could breath in was Banana Republics loose jean. Even they are a bit to snug. I didn't really need anymore ... but gave these a try during a sale. All I can say is WOW! They are loose but not baggy. When I sit down, they legs remain slightly loose in the thighs! 36" is spot on for my long legs to. Something else, is I have a flat butt LOL! These are low rise but NOT super low like some. There just low enough that it actually makes me look like I have a butt :) Sooo, a loose, comfortable jean that DOESN'T SAG in the butt!!!! Absolutely Perfect!!!

his loose fit ... we have one small issue and that is in the mens loose ... ordered 3 pair 36 x 36 and I received one pair 34 x 34 - I threw away the order form thinking that they were all the same size. I need to send back the pair of 34x34 and exchange them for 36x36.

Good ... but with a very slight bell bottom
The ... made of good durable jean material and the cut is loose fitting as advertised. The material is a medium weight (not thin). They had a slight yellowing to the fade, which was easily fixed by adding abt a 1/4 cup of bleach to the wash. Now they have a good blue/white fade. The ... appear to be pre shrunk since they did not shrink any after 2 washes. The only thing I don't like about them is they seem to have a very slight bell bottom to them (boot cut? dunno). They fit more like dress pants at the bottom covering most of the shoe as a result. I think I will try the straight cut next to see how those look. Or maybe I will see if they have them in a local store so I can see what the straight cut looks like before I order online. By ordering online I know I can get the correct size from Old Navy since I am ... had been an Old Navy khaki fan for years. (I think they sell something like those under Gap brand now, but they were/are great long lasting pants.)

Finally a great look and good fitting jean for a ... man

big size loose ...
These ... not the old style old navy but they are comfortable and were true to size, the butt was a little tight and the bottoms are a little to flanged but all in all I'm satisfied, I am a heavy guy but short so if your big or ... don't try to squeeze into the regular's or you will find they are skinny jean's with a low rise,big and ... sizes are are pretty much true to size.

My husband is 6'6" and its hard to find pants long enough for him. The ... lenght was perfect for him though the legs were a bit tight for a loose fit jean.

Switching to Mens pants
A friend recommend the ... Loose fit ... after I had told her of my problem finding women's ... cover my rear. And, these ... do the trick, I liked them so much that I bought two more pairs on sale in the store, but unfortunately even though they are the same size as the pair that I had purchased online, they do not fit. So, there is a sizing inconsistency, and I will be returning them. :(

Good fit that come''s up just a little short
Old Navy ... have been my preferred brand for the last 8 - 10 years. In some ways, mens' cut ... have always fit me better than womens', and Old Navy has a good selection. I have a 34" inseam, which works most of the time with ... labeled as 34", but the last two pair of Old Navy ... including the one in this review, have fit great right off the rack, but have drawn up 1/2" to 1" in the inseam after the first washing. Hey, Old Navy - if you're going to used material that will definitely shrink, then design your ... true to their dimensions AFTER a normal wash and dry.I'm old enough (sadly) to remember Levi's Shrink to-Fits, which were huge off the rack, but fit like a glove after the recommended wash and-dry breaking in period. Maybe you can borrow from Levi's playbook and deisgn ... meant to fit right with normal maintenance.

Rise way too short
I bought these for my husband, trying to find a replacement pair of ... since his old faithful brand changed their rise to be shorter. However, this Old Navy jean had the shortest rise of all the new ... we've tried, and he hated it! Offer a longer rise for those who want it. He complained it went up his backside and was too tight. Have returned these ... not be purchasing again.

No Butt
Don't buy unless you've had your butt surgically removed. I bought a 48" waist, which seems to be the equivalent of a 50" waist elsewhere, and the waist fits fine. But the back is so short it doesn't even cover my crack, standing completely upright and pulling the ... up as high as they go. All mens pants are too tight in the rear for me, but Old Navy used to have baggy ... were perfect (similar to 560s). But these are tighter in the rear than anything I have ever tried on before.

New cut of Loose fit ...
I have been buying Old Navy loose ... 5+ years and have always had good luck with them up until recently (within last 6months or so) For a while the stores and online was out of stock on their loose fit ... after they got them back in the cut was way different. The new version of the old navy loose ... NOT LOOSE!!! The waist and length are fine but the legs of the pants are cut thinner and not actually loose and also the rise is much more like a low rise jean. One other thing is that the seat/crotch area is much tighter. You could say, hey, buy the next biggest size...Iv'e tried them on, they are WAY too big. Its a sad day that old navy has messed with their ... point that I must buy my ... somewhere else now. I agree with others that say the denim is a bit thinner than other brands but they do wear pretty good. They do wear out by the pockets in the back but for the price I would say that the length of time you wear them is still a good value. For others that say they don't look good, I am not sure they either bought the right size, cut or what but i've been asked where I got my ... gotten compliments on them....well, the older style of loose ... anyway. The new ones could be called [*] NOT COOL! C'mon Old Navy, please go back to the old style.

They fit perfect! SKATERS, PLEASE READ.
I bought two different colors of these ... so far, they fit just fine! I am a 32W 34L and the best part about these ... can order them to your exact size! I washed, and dryed these ... [[One time, I dryed on cold, and the other, on warm]] They never shrunk. Now, these ... aren't SUPER tight. Not like the tight skater ... But, they are like Levis. So, if you are looking for a decent NOT SUPER EXPENSIVE, skinny jean, Buy these!

finally...the 36 inseam!
purchased the 32/36's; nobody seems to sell ... longer than a 34; so I've always had to settle for the 32w/34 inseam which just never seemed quite long enough. I'm 6' & weigh 150lb's. I guess I just have really skinny legs (and no butt or hips to speak of); so "to me" these "super skinny" ... fit more like a straight leg or slim fit jean. The extra length in the inseam helps keep these ... sliding down and falling off. Love them, super comfortable, soft, tiny bit of spandex, not restrictive in any way and great price. I'm glad I was able to try the longer. Anyway, since they are sold by OldGravy you could prolly go try 'em on in the store..

Very pleased with skinny ...
I've been looking for some ... don't look so baggy (I have a 40 waist) and have been looking for several years now. The largest skinny jean I could find was in a 38 waist (a lttle too snug) and when I found out Old Navy online carried skinny ... waist 40, I jumped right on it. Got them today (in just three days)and they fit really well and I don't look like an 'ice skater.' I will be ordring two more pairs and I should be set on ... awhile. Definitely, very pleased to find some ... want (and at an affordable price.)

First Pair of Skinny ... I''ve Purchased
This was the first pair of skinny ... I've ever worn. I usually go for straight/slim ... but I wanted to try out the skinny jean style, and I am more than impressed. The ... hug my legs and give them a flattering silhouette. They aren't too tight, and the ... go well with pretty much anything. I've only worn them three or four times so far, but they are definitely the best pair of ... I've ever worn.

Love that they have 34L for my very long legged son
My 16 year old son is very tall and extremely thin and can only wear Levis' Super Skinny and Skinny ... long as we can find the skinny's in 29 waist, as the 30 is a little big) because even skinny ... bit loose on him. But unless you go onto [...] and pay 70 bucks a pair for 29W or 30W and 34L, they are next to impossible to find. 32L's are barely long enough. Although I couldn't get these in 29W, the 30W's work when he wears a belt and he likes having ... go past his ankles. They are very basic and plain, but not so bad that he won't wear them. Decent ... money.

Theses are great ...
I read some negative reviews so I thought I should write one. These are SKINNY ... so they will be tighter fitting, if thats not what you want then dont buy these. But they are a nice fitting skinny jean and are good quality, espicially at the sale price. I wish they came in more colors though because I have two and dont want the black. But great comfortable ...

Decent pair of skinny ...
When I saw skinny ... Old Navy I was a bit skeptical because they're ... usually fit funny, but after trying them on I was pleasantly surprised. They were very fitted through the thigh and went straight down to the ankle instead of tapering, which I liked and I ended up buying the dark rinse and the medium wash. My only problem is that after wearing the medium wash several times they have stretched out quite a bit, especially in the waist and washing and drying hasn't shrunk them any, although the dark rinse still fits the way they do the first time I tried them on. Other than that I still think it's a pretty good jean and would recommend them to others.

A pair of ... fit!
I feel great in these ... They aren't too snug, they aren't too loose, and they rise high enough that I can sit in them comfortably. Plus they come in "tall", which is exactly what I need. With the weather cooling down, I've already worn them tons of times. Throw them on with a jacket or a sweater, or a nice flannel button down. It's a classic look that's casual but still stylish.

My son is very tall and very thin. These jeans fit perfectly and he loves them. We will be ordering more!

Comfy and sexy!!
I purchased these as a gift for my boyfriend and he just loves them! He is not very tall and always has a problem finding ... just the right length..until now! So not only is he very happy, but so am I..he looks HOT in them 8-)

I have LOVED Old Navy ... years. Old Navy ... have alway been perfect for my body type,which is curvy. I fluctuate between a 12 and 14 and Old Navy ... flattering and extremly comfortable. My husband is man very set in his ways and has been wearing the same ... 30 years. I bought him a a pair of Old Navy ... Christmas and he made a face but tried them on......Well he said that they were the first ... he ever put on that felt broken in and fit to his form right away..Thank you Old Navy for helping me get my husband into a fashionable jean without him even knoeing about it. Unhappy
Very unhappy that the jeans were what we wanted. Great color, great fit BUT WITH DEFECTIVE ZIPPER!!! What's worse is you are out of stock in that item. And your company can't tell me when you will receive more. I love your clothes, I shop with you all the time but its frustratring when you are limited in tall sizes.

Odd sizing
Ordered these in a 44/36 for my son since ON carries that as their largest waist in tall... You can be big... or tall but not both. Go figure. Anyway, the other items we ordered, the bootcut heans and the khakis were great, these were small in the waist, butt and hip... weird cut on these... if you are a big and tall... stick with the bootcuts.

Bring back the loose
As one previous reviewer mentioned, you can't be big AND tall, you have to be one or the other to shop here much of the time. I say this because the loose fit jeans are no longer, and a couple years ago the extra loose jeans were also discontinued. Both of those sizes really fit nicely for those of us who are big, tall and thick (ha!). Regular fit jeans are too tight in the thighs, butt and waist when you are big and tall, and good luck finding your size, and again, with regular, don't even bother. We are big and tall for a reason, we need pants, often times that are a little looser in the leg. Looks like I will be shopping elsewhere for jeans!

I had to buy ... 34 length because 33 length was not available. Unfortunately I had to return the product.

Go to store to try on different ... cuts first
We needed to exchange these ... my husband as ... literally looked like chick ... him! I never imagined that mens' bootcut would be made and shaped exactly like womens'. When we got to the store, the cuts all ... differently and we had a lot of trial and error to find him the right ... guess once you know which works for you, then it's safe to order online.

I was so glad I thoroughly searched the site! My son needs a ... size and thru a lengthy search I found the sizes I needed. Wish there was an easier way to find Talls, maybe a section labled "Can't find your size?" We love the fit and wish we could find more in the stores!

BELL BOTTOMS?
thought this ... would stay true to its style "painters" but it really looks like "bell bottoms" or "boot cut". I order 6 pairs of mens painter/loose ... ALL ... like bell bottoms why is that?

Sizing off from a few years ago
I've been purchasing Old Navy ... exclusively for about 5 years now. In the last 2 years the well fitting ... had enjoyed has not fit so well. Specifically the ... Mens 48" isn't available and the "Big" 48" waist is cut for someone with a _much_ shorter hip and rear. I hope they being offering larger waist sizes in the ... cut.

Still Disappointed
I have been an avid buyer of Old Navy clothes for a long time. Their mens carpentar ... were the greatest. They have since changed their mens ... not for the better. Please bring back the old ... fit loose through the thigh and fit taller people. I have read many reviews and noticed I'm not the only one who wishes you would bring back the old ...

Bring Back The Old Style
I cannot wear the new mens painters ... nothing like the pairs I have from 2007 and 2008. ... way to tight and that is the last thing you want in a loose fitting pair of ... Not sure who at Old Navy is designing these ... but ... may want to look for another line of work. I just bought four new pair and will be taking them back immediately. Please change back to the way ... were like so many others have requested. If not, I will have to start looking elsewhere and I have worn Old Navy denim for over ten years.

Not impressed at all!
The mens ... were either made wrong or sized wrong. My husband has the same ... homeand loves them. However, these were not even close to being the same. He could not even get them pulled up or zipped. I will be returning them.

wish they did not change
so i have been wearing the carpenter/painter ... years now. i work out doors and these have always been the best in comfort and durability. but i feel like i am being forced to change because they have made the carpenter/painter ... tight in the crouch and to short in the waist, i almost thought they had gotten womens measurments mixed in with the mens. so i just bought some carpenter ... [...] found out not to bad and will live with these now. maybe in the future i will hear that old navy changes and goes back to a normal ... if that happens i will be back but until then you have lost me as a ... customer permantly.

Mens Loose Painter ...
When Old Navy first started making ... were great!! Now? Not so much... I returned my painters. ... were too tight in the legs and rear. I do happen to have big legs and a big rear but painter ... should be more loose than other ... 1 more thing... You MUST try on EVERY pair before you buy. Every pair is different, no matter what the tag says.

I bought these ... my husband online, he likes there talls because of the 36 inch inseam. I got him this ... without him knowing it because he likes "loose ... Well, to my surprise he loves this ... nice and loose in the rear.fly area. Even looser thane ON's "loose ... Plus, these are a nice "dressy" ... too. ... super comfy & my husband loves them! Time to get more colors! Buy these ... not be disappointed!!

Mens Regular ... just that...
My husband counts on these ... year in and year out. ... perfect ... him - and ... consistent year after year. ... look good and - well anything I can do to keep him from wearing the worn out ones is a bonus for me too!

Inseam SUPER Inconsistent!
I bought three pair of the same style of ... (different colors) for my husband and ... varied wildly in the inseam by about 4 inches! The ... were supposed to be 34W X 36L. Two of them I had to return because ... were so short. Only one pair was sized correctly with the length. Other than that, the one pair we kept look great and ... great. I wish ON was more consistent in their cut and we could rely on buying the Talls online since ... so hard to find anywhere else.

Oddly... feminine
I ordered these pants as a gift for my boyfriend, expecting to receive a pair of basic mens' ... However, the denim weight on these ... much lower than those of the older style Old Navy ... which led to a rather interesting clingy effect when he tried them on. I'd try to exchange them for a different size, but I fear that Old Navy has abandoned more traditional heavy weight fabrics for trendier, thinner, almost stretchy fabrics, so I'm just going to return them.
