PERFECT SHORTS!!!! I'm a 38 year old stay at home mom of three, proud to say in good shape after three children and do not mind showing a little leg. However the only style of shorts out there these days are daisy duke length or burmuda's. Daisy duke's are, in my opinion, way too ... mom of three, and bermuda's seem so long. Up until now I always cut off old jeans in the same length as these shorts, so I always had strings hanging from my shorts. When I saw the other reviews of these shorts, I was excited to finally find real shorts in the length I liked, so I ordered one in each color. As soon as I put them on, I fell in love with them. They are perfect for mom's like me and I am so grateful that somebody finally came up with a decent length pair of shorts!
One size should fit the same I ordered 3 pairs of these shorts in a size 14...black, grey and khaki. The black shorts fit amazing. Perfect in the butt, comfortable in the thighs, a smidgen loose in the waist, but being a pear shape I'm used to that. The length of these shorts are exactly what I was looking for. However, when I tried on the grey and khaki shorts the waist was perfect and everything else was TIGHT. Hips, thighs, butt...it was like I'd ordered a size smaller. Very frustrating after the black ones fit so great! Also, not a fan of the pocket placement as they like to gap open on the hips. Still, the black shorts have become my favorite as great shorts for a pear shape are difficult to find.
sizing issues As usual this is another case of major size discrepancy with Old Navy. I tried on 8's in the Bermuda and 3" inseam in the store and they were huge. However the denim ... fit me perfectly at a 6. When I went to order the 7", which are on line only, (but still "Perfect ... read the description which lists quite a bit of stretch. So I ordered 6's thinking they'd be a better fit. When they arrived and I tried them on I was obviously disappointed. The waist is very tight and the rise is very low. Due to these points, coupled with the pocket placement, the ... ended up creating muffin top where there wasn't any and the ... gave the illusion of my hips being even wider than they are. I'm not a big woman and I'm not a small ... I'm average. I returned all of the ... right away and don't plan on buying ... Old Navy this year.
Yuck and Yuckier! :( I was thrilled to see these ... online. I have been on the hunt for cute ... fun colors that are flattering yet not hoochie or grannie. From the posted pics and reviews I decided to order. BIG MISTAKE! I am slim and ... yet with some curves so finding flattering clothes that my buns or bust do not hang out of is a challenge. These ... did NOT do the trick. They are very, very unflattering. The waist is ok but the legs are just awful. They fit big and baggy. Kind of reminded me of those 'mom ... 80's. They give that droopy butt effect and do not add anything to a woman's figure. I tried them on over and over hoping I was seeing it wrong but the fit just seemed so dated. I may be in my 30s with 3 young kids however I take care of myself so I don't appear to be that washed out mom who wears whatever she digs out of the laundry basket just cause she does not have the time. If you value your $money$ and looks pass these ... up! As a whole, Old Navy seems to be losing their edge when it comes to making cute, flattering ... across the board. Look elsewhere Ladies...
